Studio Policies
BOOKING
Starke Lake Studios reservations require a booking of 2 hours minimum for any service offered at Starke Lake Studios.
TIME BOOKED IS TIME PAID AND IS NON-REFUNDABLE REGARDLESS OF NUMBER OF HOURS USED.
DEPOSIT
A deposit is required to reserve any requested date and time.
- For 2-to-4-hour sessions, the deposit is the total amount invoiced (full payment must be made).
- For sessions over 4 hours, the deposit is 50% of the total invoiced amount. The remaining balance of the invoice will be due by session start time. Session files will not be released to the client until the balance has been paid.
The deposit must be received within 24 hours of the invoice being sent. Until the deposit is collected, the studio has the right to reserve the room, date, or time to other inquiries.
Upon successfully receiving a deposit, your session will be confirmed and Starke Lake Studios will assign a resident engineer and/or any other personnel needed for your project. A resident engineer will be assigned regardless of external personnel present.
INVOICING
Invoices are created based on information provided by the client. Session details originally provided by the client will be included in the invoice. Any changes or additions to the session not detailed on the invoice may result in additional charges.
If the session runs for additional time, the client will be responsible for paying any additional hours at standard room rate per hour. If the session runs over the allotted time by 15 minutes of the hour, Starke Lake Studios reserves the right to charge one additional hour to the client. Until any additional charges are paid in full, session files will not be released.
Depending on the complexity of the session, a minimum of one-hour setup time may be charged. If a multi-day session is booked and the client would like the setup to be kept in place overnight, the client will be charged for the studio booked for the full day (10-hour block).
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations and “no show” cancellations will result in no refund. Any deposit made for multi-day sessions will be nonrefundable.
ADDITIONAL INFO
Client session files will be held by the studio for 30 days from session start time. After 30 days, the files will be deleted from our system. It will be solely the client's responsibility to receive and maintain any session files from then on.
Starke Lake Studios is not held liable for the actions of any personnel not contracted by Starke Lake Studios.
Services will be provided at the discretion of Starke Lake Studios, staff, and/or contracted services. External personnel may be asked to vacate the premises at any time at the discretion of the Starke Lake Studios staff. In this event, no exceptions nor refunds will be made.
Studio policies may be updated at any time without notice.
*For record labels: In place of a 50% deposit, a PO# is required to solidify studio time in the studio's schedule. For new labels, please provide appropriate information needed for Starke Lake Studios to be recognized in your system for invoicing purposes.
